The first acts have been revealed for Bristol Sounds 2020 along with news that the event will also for the first time feature an all-day Saturday show.
The concert series will return to Lloyds Amphitheatre from 23– 28 June, with a line-up featuring Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Supergrass, Jack Savoretti, and The Levellers and Reef.
Midsummer’s Night Wednesday 24 June will see Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds return to Bristol having recently released his latest single, Wandering Star, taken from the upcoming EP Blue Moon Rising. Fans of Gallagher will no doubt be delighted with his return to the city, following his incredible headline set at The Downs Bristol in 2018.
Supporting Noel are the Australian indie-electro pop outfit Confidence Man, whose debut album Confident Music for Confident People was named the best independent dance album in the Australian Independent Record Label Music Awards.
On Thursday 25 June, Supergrass take to the Amphitheatre stage. The Britpop four piece reunited in September of 2019, undertaking a ‘surprise’ performance at the annual Pilton Party in the same month.
While the line-up details for Friday at Bristol Sounds are still to be announced, the people of Bristol can get excited about the prospect of an all-day event on Saturday at Bristol Sounds.
Saturday 27 June, which will run from midday until 11pm, will feature A Beautiful Day Out, headlined and curated by the Levellers. The all-day bill will feature local Pilton legends Reef, perennial festival favourites Goldie Lookin Chain, Scottish three-piece Peat & Diesel, Bristol solo artist Gaz Brookfield with many more acts still to be announced.
Bringing proceedings to a close on Sunday 28 June is Jack Savoretti, returning to the west country after selling out Westonbirt Arboretum to 9000 people this summer. His recent, and sixth, album “ Singing to Strangers” entered at number 1 in the album charts earlier this year and this is his biggest Bristol show to date.
