Fairport's Cropredy Convention Festival
Join us for the fortieth anniversary (1979-2019) of Britain's friendliest music festival.
Now in its fortieth year, Fairport's Cropredy Convention presents three days of great music in a stunning rural setting. Billed as Britain's friendliest music festival, the event attracts up to 20,000 music fans of all ages from all walks of life.
Cropredy's eclectic (and sometimes quirky line-up) offers something to most musical tastes. The festival respects its origins as a showcase for the very best of folkrock but now encompasses a wide range of musical genres - everything from solo singer-songwriters such as Ralph McTell to giants of rock like Alice Cooper and Status Quo; from classic pop including 10CC, Brian Wilson and Petula Clark to dub reggae and prog rock. Then there's Americana and alt country, humour, world music, and the winner of the BBC R2 Young Folk Musician Of The Year Award.
Already confirmed for the fortieth anniversary are Waterboys, Daphne’s Flight, Martin Simpson, Seth Lakeman and The Martin Barre Band. Richard Thompson will appear with former bandmates Dave Mattacks, Dave Pegg and Simon Nicol. The festival will finish with a marathon set from host band Fairport Convention and their musical guests.
